Our Purpose
Delivering public value
Our firm is named after Sir Robert Garran, who on 1 January 1901, became the Commonwealth’s very first, and for a time only, public servant. Garran was instrumental in the establishment of the public service, the machinery of government, and the first federal parliamentary elections.
Garran joined the public service at a time when the demands on the creative capacities of policy makers and decision-makers were great.
Today, Australian governments face demands of a similar magnitude.
Garran Advisory supports the development of public policy solutions that deliver meaningful improvements to the lives of Australians. We assist government with carefully considered and practical policy initiatives.
